Support
Email support@binarydatatechnology.com. Please include your phone model, your Android version, and — if a specific clip failed — what the app said on screen. The error message includes a code that identifies exactly what went wrong.

Common questions
"That video could not be opened"
This usually means the file is not really on the device — cloud-only files that show in a picker but have not been downloaded cannot be read. Download the file first, then try again. It can also mean the file was moved or deleted after you picked it.
An export failed
Clipwright tells you which of these happened:
- "This device cannot decode this video format." Your phone has no decoder for that file. Clips recorded by the phone's own camera app almost always work.
- "This device could not create a video encoder at these settings." Try a lower resolution or quality.
- "The video could not be processed." Often HDR footage or a protected track.
- "The original video is no longer available." The file moved or was deleted. Choose it again from the home screen.
- "Not enough free space." The message tells you how much is needed and how much you have.
My "compressed" file came out bigger
This is real and it is not a bug. Compression is not guaranteed. If your original was already squeezed harder than the quality you picked — a clip downloaded from a messaging app, for instance — re-encoding it at a higher quality makes it larger. Clipwright warns you before you start when this looks likely, and afterwards it measures the actual file and tells you plainly which way it went.
To make a file smaller, pick a lower resolution, or the Small quality preset, or both.
The export is slow, or slows down partway
Video encoding uses dedicated hardware that shares heat and power with the rest of the phone. Long jobs genuinely do slow down as the device warms up. The progress bar reflects real work completed, so a slow-moving bar means slow work rather than a stuck app. Leaving the screen on and the phone cool helps.
Does Clipwright need the internet?
No. It does not even have permission to use it. Everything happens on your device.
Where do my exported clips go?
They stay inside the app until you do something with them. From Results you can play a clip in another app, share it, save it to your gallery (Android 10 and newer), or save a copy anywhere with the file picker. Deleting an export in the app does not remove copies you already saved elsewhere.
Is my original video safe?
Yes. Clipwright opens the file you chose for reading only and writes results to new files. It never modifies, moves or deletes your original. Removing a clip from the home screen only makes Clipwright forget it; the file on your device stays where it is.
Is the audio kept in sync?
Yes. Audio is re-encoded along with the video through every trim and split. You can also remove audio entirely in Crop and quality.
Splitting: what happens to the leftover piece?
You choose. When a clip does not divide evenly, you can keep the short leftover as its own final clip, add it to the last clip, or leave it out. The split screen states in words what your current choice will do before you export.
What is in a backup?
Your clip list and the edit settings you chose for each one. Not your videos — they are large and already on your device. Restoring shows you what a backup contains, and what will be skipped, before anything is written, and never overwrites or deletes what is already there.
How do I delete everything?
Uninstall the app. That removes all of its private storage. There is nothing to delete anywhere else, because nothing is stored anywhere else.
Accessibility
Clipwright supports large font sizes, dark mode and TalkBack. Every trim handle can be moved by slider, by fixed 0.1-second and 1-second steps, or by taking the current preview position, so no edit depends on a precise drag. Export status is always written in words next to its progress bar, not signalled by colour alone. If something is unusable with an accessibility service, please tell us — that is a bug worth fixing.
